Caring for your cutting board is an important part of keeping your board clean and looking at it's very best. We also recommend cutting on the back side of the board, to preserve the beautiful front side for serving.
We recommend rinsing your board with warm - soapy water after each use, then wipe dry with a clean cloth. Never wash your board in the dishwasher or submerge in water, this can permanently damage your cutting board.
To keep your cutting board looking new, we recommend using a food-grade Cutting Board Oil and Butcher Block Conditioner, these items can be purchased at any home goods store or online.
Step 1 - With a clean and dry cutting board apply a generous amount of Cutting Board Oil onto the surface of the cutting board.
Step 2 - Using a clean cloth rub the oil into the cutting board moving in the direction of the wood grain, repeat on all sides of the cutting board.
Step 3 - Allow 20 minutes for the oil to soak into the board (repeat steps 1-2 if needed), wipe away any excess oil.
Step 4 - Allow the cutting board to sit for a couple of hours after applying oil, now apply a generous amount of warm Butcher Block Conditioner to the cutting board surface.
Step 5 - Using a clean cloth, rub the conditioner into the wood moving in the direction of the wood grain, repeat on all sides of the cutting board.
Step 6 - Allow 20 minutes for the conditioner to soak into the cutting board (repeat steps 4-5 if needed), then wipe away any excess conditioner.
Now your cutting board is ready for use, we recommend following these steps every couple of months. Enjoy!!!
